Centralia Police arrested a 31-year-old Vandalia woman who drove around a road closed sign and became stuck on the Norfolk Southern Railroad tracks at the 13th and Wabash Street crossing.

Joeitta Mansker of West Filmore had left her vehicle after it became stuck and was found lying in a yard around a block away at 13th and Marion. She complained of pain and was taken by ambulance to SSM Health St. Mary’s Hospital for treatment.

Police say the railroad was in the process of repairing the crossing and had cut out the pavement around the tracks causing Mansker’s car to become stuck just after midnight Sunday morning.

The Norfolk Southern Railroad was notified to stop traffic until the car could be towed.

Mansker was given a notice to appear in court for allegedly driving under the influence, leaving the scene of an accident and disobeying a traffic control device.
