A 32-year-old Salem man has been arrested in connection with a June police chase that followed an attempted bicycle traffic stop.
Salem Police say Cody Buchanan of Salem Mobile Home Park fled the bicycle stop at North Bryan Lane and Franklin first on his bike and then later on foot into a wooded area near Hawthorn and Franklin Park Schools. Police searched the area but could never locate anyone.
With the help of video in the area of the chase, police were able to identify Buchanan as the person they were seeking.
Police Friday night conducted a foot patrol in the mobile home park. They made contact with one of Buchanan’s family members, who eventually convinced him to come outside.
Once in custody, Buchanan was taken to the Marion County Jail to be held on an attempted fleeing and eluding charge as well as on an outstanding felony no-bond Clinton County warrant.
