A 64-year-old Farina man is accused of leading a Clay County Sheriff’s Deputy on a Wednesday night chase. Henry Dietz was arrested for possession of more than five grams of methamphetamine, obstructing justice, and fleeing or attempting to elude police.
When the deputy initially tried to stop the motorcycle on the Xenia-Iola Road after observing multiple traffic violations, the driver allegedly continued three and a half miles until finally stopping on Broadway Street in Iola. Dietz was then taken into custody without incident.
During the pursuit, the deputy observed the driver throw an item out along the road. The plastic bag containing a substance that field-tested positive for methamphetamine was later allegedly found in that location.
