Former Marion County Coroner Troy Cannon is now allowed to go 90 feet outside the front door of his home to get his mail and feed his animals.  He originally had been ordered not to leave his house when released on pre-trial release earlier on seven counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse to a person under 18.

The changes were made following arguments on a motion to modify pre-trial release held in Marion County Court Wednesday.

Cannon had initially sought to go up to 200 yards outside his home, but State’s Attorney Tim Hudspeth said that distance even includes a neighbor’s home.

Cannon’s whereabouts are monitored by GPS.  He’s not allowed to get outside the GPS limits without being accompanied by a court approved person.

Cannon’s September jury trial setting was vacated.  He’s next due back in court October first when a new jury trial date could be set.
