The free backpack and school supply giveaway organized by Crystal Koch is taking registration from students who would like to participate from now until seven Wednesday night, July 30, in the Calumet Street Christian Church Gym on East Calumet and Airport Road.
The pickup day for those preregistered will be Friday, August 8th. Children must be present to pick up supplies. Pick-up times will be given at the time of registration. You are asked to bring a copy of your child’s school supply list with you to registration.
Any supplies left after preregistration plus at least an additional 500 backpacks will be handed out on a first come first serve basis on Saturday, August 9th, from 11 am to 2 pm at the Calumet Street Christian Church. Children must also be present for this part of the giveaway.
Backpacks, paper (loose leaf and notebooks), folders, composition books, markers, crayons, colored pencils, pencil boxes, erasers, Germ X, Clorox Wipes, index cards, scissors, glue, Kleenex, zip lock bags, dry erase markers, ear buds, post it notes, rulers, dividers, etc will be given away.
