A 39-year-old rural Iuka man was flown from the scene of a one pickup truck crash early Monday night on the Route 161 Extension at the Slapout curve.
Marion County Sheriff Kevin Cripps says Brandon Blackburn of C-Bar Lane initially ran off the north side of the road, crossed back across the pavement and went off the south side of the road, and then overcorrected causing the vehicle to run off the north side of the road for a second time. The truck then began rolling multiple times, ejecting Blackburn from the vehicle.
Blackburn reportedly received head injuries. With the assistance of Iuka Fire and United Medical Response, he was transported to an Air Evac helicopter that landed nearby to be taken to a St. Louis Hospital.
The crash occurred around 5:45 Monday evening.
