The Marion County Fair Talent Show Sponsored by WJBD-WSIQ selected first place finishers in the Junior and Senior Division that will now advance to the statewide competition for county fair winners in January.
The Junior winners were 8-year-old Annie Vincent and Mahlaya Weston and 9-year-old Allyson Norman who have been part of the dance program at Southern Illinois Elite Tumble and Cheer for the past few years. They did a choreographed dance routine to the song ‘River’ they worked on the past few weeks. The group is excited about the state competition in Springfield in January.

The Senior Group winner was Zella Trinkle of who played a guitar and sang ‘Love is Mine’.
“I’ve been playing music for eight to nine years now,” Trinkle said. “I started with ukelele for about two years. When I was twelve, I started playing acoustic guitar and I started taking lessons from a member of the band The Hunts, whose song I played tonight.
Trinkle is also excited about her trip to state.
Her dad, Andrew, won the open competition. He also sang as his 12-year-old son Silas played drums to the son ‘God Is Not Dead’ in a Junior Division Entry.
