This is the final day for the reign of 2024 Miss Marion County Fair Preslee Harris.

A new queen will be selected from nine contestants in front of the fair grandstand at seven Monday night.  The theme this year is Taylor Swift with the dance numbers to Swift songs.

Harris says it has been a busy year.

“The thing that I found most enjoyable was the thing I prioritized all year: being present in my community,” Harris said. “Everywhere I could be, I was there. Even if it was a school night, no matter how much homework I had or how tired I got, I still wanted to go, because I get 365 days to wear this crown. I might as well do everything I can.”

Harris reflected on the favorite part of her reign.

“Honestly, it was last year running for the pageant. To this day, nothing has topped it with how much fun I had. I always say that I chose to run for Miss Marion County and just happened to win, because I was having such a good time all summer with the friends I made and the friends I already had.”

The nine contestants who want to replace Harris are Ella Douglas, Kenzi Coffey, and Abi Perry of Salem, Amanda Taylor, Mariah Adullah, Madelyn Dailey, Kairyn Dunahee, and Hannah Duncan of Walnut Hill.  20 Little Misses will also be crowned.  The evening will conclude with a fireworks display in honor of the new queen.
