The Marion County Sheriff’s Department has ticketed a Centralia Police Sergeant who was involved in a crash on his way to a domestic battery call earlier this month.

Centralia Police say the sheriff’s department handled the July 9th crash because an officer was involved and as part of the investigation ticketed Sergeant Stephen Perry for disobeying a stop sign and driving on an expired license.

The report indicates Perry was eastbound on Fifth Street and disobeyed the stop sign at Elm, colliding with a northbound car on Elm driven by 45-year-old Chad Johnson of Dr. Martin Luther King Drive in Centralia.

Neither driver required hospital treatment.

Another officer was sent to handle the domestic call following the crash.

Centralia Police are continuing their investigation into the crash.
