United Way of South Central Illinois, in partnership with Central Illinois Foodbank, SSM Health, and University of Illinois Extension, is hosting a protein market on Thursday, July 24th, at the Centralia Cultural Society. This event is designed to provide essential protein-rich foods to families in need throughout the region.
Line-up will begin at 11:00 a.m., and food distribution will begin at 1:00 p.m. Individuals and families are asked not to arrive before 11:00 a.m., as early arrivals will be turned away in order to maintain safety and traffic flow. Signage will be posted on-site to direct vehicles through the correct line-up path, and overflow parking will be available at the Centralia Community Youth Association.
Thanks to Central Illinois Foodbank, the following items will be available on a first-come, first-served basis:
- Ground Beef
- Milk
- Potatoes
- Cucumbers
- Corn
Organizers stress the importance of following all posted guidelines and being respectful to event staff, volunteers, and the surrounding community.
