The Marion County Board Tuesday night will hear from four persons upset with property taxes following the mailing of this year’s property tax bills.
Neal Smith, Roy Landers, Paul Jones and Dr. Ted Vanacker have all asked to address the board during public comment.
One item on the agenda is an invitation that has been issued to a company to address the next budget committee on increasing the accuracy of Marion County Assessments.
Other agenda items include an update on the overdue Fiscal Year ’23 audit and a contract with WIPFLI to complete the 2024-26 audits. SKS Engineering will address the board about plans for a $15-million solar project on the Community Beach Road off U.S. 51 north of Centralia. A closed session is planned for discussion regarding Marion County Animal Control Housing.
The meeting begins at 6:30 Tuesday night in one of third floor courtrooms at the Marion County Courthouse.
