The Jr Gold National Youth Bowling Championships finished up over the weekend in Green Bay, Wisconsin.

Salem’s Ryan Detering and Silas Moats both advanced to the Advancers Round.  Ryan missed the next cut by just 12 pins and finished 72nd out of over 1300 competitors.  He averaged 206 for the week.  Moats averaged 199.6 and was 152nd overall.

Moving on were Connor Lunning of O’Fallon who was 18th and Evan Flath of Carterville who was 42nd.  Lunning then advanced to Match Play finishing 8th with a 1215 block in the Final Advancers.  Flath failed to make the top 16 finishing 33rd with a 211.5 average for the week.

In Match Play, Lunning lost both matches to finishing 12-16.  He will bowl at McKendree University next year.

In the 18u Girls, Vandalia’s Macy Jones missed the Cut to Match Play finishing 22nd overall.

In the U15 Boys Division, Harrisburg’s Dalton Wheeler was the 2nd seed as he advanced to Match Play before losing his 2 matches.  Wheeler averaged 223 for the week.  Wheeler was selected to e a member of Junior Team USA Development.  Bartelso’s Jacson Deiters finished 50th overall with a 199 average.

In the U15 Girls, Kellen Stephens of Collinsville missed the cut by just 2 spots to the Final Advancers as she finished 28th missing the cut by just 2 spots.
