The Junior Gold Bowling Nationals continued yesterday with Day 2 of the 4 days of qualifying in various alley’s in Green Bay, Wisconsin.

In the U18 Boys, O’Fallon’s Connor Lunning has had a great start to his tournament as he is currently 29th out of 1341 in the division.  He shot a 2nd day round of 986.  Carterville’s Evan Flath is doing well sitting in 68th after his 903 and teammate Caleb Gore is at 105 with his 826.  Salem grad and Missouri Baptist freshman to be Silas Moats shot 810 for the day and 1593 for his 2 day total and is 188th while Ryan Detering shot 813 yesterday for a two day total of 1537 and in 314th.

Also in the 18u, Travin Elliott of Mt Vernon shot 821, teammate Jeremiah  Barker shot 760, Bartelso’s Chasse Wuebbels shot 629, Raymond Andrews of Opdyke shot 644, Mt Vernon’s Trace Elliott shot 683 and Sam Klimek shot 573, Korbyn Breeze of Bonnie shot 644 and Jaxon Cushman of Centralia shot 559.

In the U18 Girls, Vandalia High’s Macy Jones who is from Shobonier, is in 28th place after her round of 782.  Briley Dent of Bonnie shot 633 and Alexis Livesay of Hoyleton shot 628.

In U15 Boys it was a crazy round for Salem’s Nicholi Marhanka.  Staying in a Air BnB, he was playing cards with other area athletes in their basement.  When the time came for Nic to go to his 2nd round they found out the door was broke and nobody could get out.  Luckily Nic is a problem solver and was able to wiggle his way out of a small window and still make the round on time while the other athletes were stuck for over an hour.  Marhanka rolled a 763 for a 171 average on the week so far.

His Salem teammate Kai Graham shot 594 in his 2nd round, Jaxon Ward shot 687 and Bentley Bryan shot 615.

The week so far has belonged to Harrisburg’s Dalton Wheeler who moved up to 2nd place overall after a 2nd round of 835 to give him a 226 average for the first 2 days.  He is currently just 2 pins off the lead.  Brendan Phillips of Breese is 91st shooting 724, Trigg Goestenkors of Albers shot 697, Brody Zotz of New Baden shot 699, Owen Hemker of Bartelso 691, Caleb Hemker of Bartelso shot 597, Cooper Martin of Breese 666, Jaesun Mann of Mt Vernon 640, Zach Ritter of Aviston 628, Casen Martin of Breese 582, Marcus Deiters of Bartelso 573, Grant Ziegler of Breese 515, Cole Wuebbels of Bartelso 504.

In U15 Girls, Avery Emig of Aviston leads  the local bowlers shooting 642 and sitting in 112th place.  Reese Renth of Aviston shot 664, Mollie Jo McGraw of Mt Vernon 602 and Alexis Bellemey of Aviston shot 593.

In the U12 Girls, Izabel Andrews of Opdyke shot 496.
