Mark Allen Claybourn, age 63 of Centralia, passed away on Wednesday, July 16, 2025, at his home, with his family at his side.
Mark was born on July 22, 1961, in Salem, Illinois, the son of Charles F. and Jerry (Blakeley) Claybourn. He married Malinda (Phelps) Claybourn on December 7, 1992, in Paducah, Kentucky, and together they shared 32 years united in marriage.
Survivors include his wife, Malinda Claybourn of Centralia; daughter, Meredith Miller of Centralia and her children Mitchell James Miller and Breanna Davis; his son, Zachary Miller and wife Candace of San Diego, California and their children, Nathan Flowers and Kinsley Miller; a brother, Michael Claybourn and wife Laurie of Boulder, Illinois; along with several close friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Jerry Claybourn; and his grandfather, Charles “Chub” Claybourn.
Mark was a hardworking and devoted individual. He spent 23 years at World Color Press in Salem and went on to serve as a private investigator for 24 years until his retirement.
Mark was deeply patriotic and had a profound love for his country. Though he did not serve in the military himself, he had immense respect for the men and women who did. He often expressed gratitude for their sacrifice and service, and he proudly supported veterans and active-duty members alike.
Funeral services for Mark Allen Claybourn will be held on Wednesday, July 23, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at Crouse Funeral Home in Salem with Adam Carlson officiating. Burial will follow at Romine Prairie Cemetery in Kell. There will be a visitation held on Tuesday evening at the funeral home from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. Memorial contributions van be made to the First Christian Church in Centralia and will be accepted at the funeral home.
