A 32-year-old Centralia man has been arrested on 72 criminal and traffic charges following a high speed chase that reached 60 miles per hour in Sandoval and crossed the Sandoval Golf Course early Wednesday evening.
Nathan Hale of North Hickory was able to get away when Sandoval Police did not follow Hale across the golf course after the chase left town on the old railroad right of way and crashed to a gate to get into the golf course. A number of police agencies were called to try and locate Hale, but he was not found. The vehicle later found parked in Junction City.
Sandoval Police felt Hale would return to the community and kept a look out at places where he might show up. They found him outside a home around 3:30 Friday morning. Hale reportedly tried to run on foot, but ended up running into a second Sandoval officer on duty and was taken into custody.
Hale’s long list of charges and tickets include aggravated fleeing and eluding police, criminal damage to property, possession of under five grams of meth, possession of under 30 grams of cannabis, resisting/obstructing arrest, leaving the scene of an accident, no insurance, and a large number of tickets for traffic citations.
