The Salem 11u Wildcats won their District opener at Robinson with a 7-1 win over Mt Carmel. Ben Houser was the starter allowing no hits and no runs over 3 innings with 6 strikeouts and NO walks. Easton Henson pitched a scoreless inning as well. Jasen Lindsey led Salem with 3 hits. Bo Martinez added 2 hits. Grayson Purintun and Henson added multiple hits as well.
The Sc Storm 07 softball team won their 2nd Annual Storm Summer College Showcase event. Also congratulations to Tri-County Mayhem on finishing 4-1 on the weekend and bringing home 2nd place.
The Pinto 8u Baseball World Series opens in Marion this weekend. Patoka, Mt Vernon, Centralia, Effingham, Herrin, Marion, Vandalia will all be participating.
The Junior Legion District Tournament will open up on Thursday with Trenton and Odin playing with the winner getting Breese later that night. The tournament will continue Friday and finish up on Saturday. All games are at North Side Park in Breese.
