A 23-year-old Salem man has been charged in Marion County Court with felony theft of more than $10,000.
Marion County Sheriff Kevin Cripps says Mason Becker of Julia Drive is accused of taking over $30,000 from the home of a family member in rural Salem on July first. Becker was arrested Tuesday night following an investigation by the sheriff’s department where he allegedly admitted taking the money.
Cripps says $1,300 was recovered while Becker indicated he had spent the rest of the money including some on drugs.
Becker is expected to make his first appearance in court on Wednesday.
