The City of Salem plans to have a music program leading up to the Friday night fireworks display over the Salem Reservoir. Recreation Director Jed Casburn is inviting everyone to come out early and enjoy the pre-fireworks activity.
“We are inviting everyone out to the 4th of July celebration this Friday evening, outside the Family aquatic center. We are going to have local food trucks, the band ‘Sojourn Rocs’, face painting, and then our finale with the fireworks.”
The food trucks will open at five Friday evening, with the music beginning at six. The fireworks will be shot off around nine Friday night. The program is a change from the past few years when an afternoon of music was held at the Bryan Park Band Stage before everyone had to move closer to the reservoir to see the fireworks.
