It was a busy weekend for Centralia Police as they investigated aggravated battery, residential burglary, theft and criminal sexual assault reports. Police report the arrest of two 16-year-old female residents of One Hope United after they allegedly stole a large number of vapes Friday night from the Circle K Store on East McCord Street. The two reportedly ran through Foundation Park and were apprehended Friday night at gunpoint along Parkview Drive.
Centralia Police received a report of a criminal sexual assault at a home in the 1000 block of South Cherry on Saturday afternoon. A complaint was filed by the female victim with the case sent to investigations.
Centralia Police were called to C-Town Twist on East Calumet on Friday to a report of aggravated battery and mob action. Police say two males were fighting, with the alleged victim punched several times. So far no arrests have been made.
Police received two reports of residential burglary. A home in the 100 block of North Pine was reported entered on Saturday morning with a TV and tools reported missing. The second residential burglary occurred in the 1100 block of Dover. Fishing tackle and shoes were reported missing.
Centralia Police say IE Electronics decided not to pursue armed robbery charges after a man allegedly stealing copper from a bin held a knife up to an employee early Sunday morning. A complaint about the theft was filed. No arrests have been made.
