A 29-year-old Salem man has been sentenced to four years of sex offender probation after pleading guilty in Marion County Court to a reduced charge of aggravated criminal sexual abuse.
Joshua Roedl had originally been charged with two counts of predatory criminal sexual assault of a child between October 2020 and October 2021. Salem Police at the time of the arrest said the victim was a four year old girl. They said they believe there is only one incident and that no other children were involved.
Judge Mark Stedelin accepted the plea agreement that also includes no contact with the victim or anyone under 18 without prior written approval, credit for 114 days served in the Marion County Jail, and fined $1,710. A job search was also ordered.
Roedl also filed a petition to transfer the probation to another state.
