The Centralia City Council Monday night will be asked to approve a development agreement for the new Byrd Watson Drug Store at 790 West McCord Street.  City Manager Galen Mahle says under the proposal, Rueter Byrd, LLC would receive 80 percent of the tax increment generated and 60-percent if TIF#5 receives an extension or renewal from the state.

The council will hear a presentation from C.J. Schloser and Company LLC on the city’s yearly audit for the year ending December 31st of last year.  Mahle says the report shows the city’s net position increased by $1,135,766 during the fiscal year.  The city issued debt of $4,715,849 during the year and paid off $607,173.

The council will consider a resolution allowing for the execution of an agreement between the City of Centralia and Spectrum Mid-America, known locally as Charter Communications, for ten years with an automatic five-year extension.  The agreement will allow Charter to be able to continue to construct, operate and maintain a cable system within public right of way.  The city will continue to collect five percent of the quarterly gross revenue consistent with federal law.

The council will be asked to waive the five mile per hour speed limit on Raccoon Lake for the upcoming National Boat Racing Association Races to be held August 21st to 24th.

The council will be asked to approve a fireworks display on Lake Centralia by the Lake Association for Saturday, July 5th.  The Salem Fire Protection District has already approved of the display.

Mayor Bryan Kuder is recommending several appointments to boards and commissions.  They include Chuck Fogliasso to Veterans Affairs, Bill Agee to both the Police Pension and Fire Pension Boards and Jack Graham to the Police Pension Board.

The meeting begins at six Monday night at Centralia City Hall.
