Salem Police say a 55-year-old Salem man was injured when his gas powered bicycle crashed into the side of a car.
The crash occurred Tuesday afternoon when Bryan Hester of East Rainey was traveling on West Main when it struck a car coming off the southbound exit ramp from I-57. The driver of the car, 38-year-old Annalisa Arnett of East Sumpter Road in Dix, escaped injury.
Hester was taken by United Medical Response to the Salem Township Hospital helipad where he was transported to a St. Louis Hospital for treatment.
The crash was reported at 2:40 Tuesday afternoon.
