One of the many ‘No Kings’ protests held around the state and country on Saturday was on the courthouse square in Salem.
It was put together by Marion County Democratic Party Chair Becki Parrett who said they have numerous concerns about the way President Donald Trump is running the country.
“He’s shredding our Constitution and not obeying the Supreme Court,” Parrett said. “He’s getting rid of functions that are necessary to the people. He’s enriching himself. He’s having a military parade under the guise of it being the 250th anniversary of the military, but we all know he wanted this in his first term just because he wants one. He’s spending $45 million that could go toward the cuts. This is a protest against all of those things.”
About 50 attended the protest and held signs along Main and Broadway citing their concerns.
