The Salem Fire Protection District reports a vehicle parked in the Salem Aquatic Center parking lot was destroyed by just before noon Wednesday.
Firemen say flames were shooting from the engine compartment of the car owned by Emma Wood of Salem upon their arrival. The cause of the fire is not known.
Firemen say fortunately no other vehicles were parked nearby.
The fire call came in at 11:30 Wednesday morning.
