The City of Salem is scheduled to swear in its new city manager during Monday night’s city council meeting.  A reception to introduce Lisa Peck will begin at 5:30 Monday night prior to the six o’clock council meeting.  With a very short agenda, the reception and meet and greet is expected to continue after the meeting.

Peck is coming to Salem from Hannibal, Missouri where she has been city manager since 2019.  In announcing her selection following a nationwide search, Salem officials cited her over 16 years of experience in municipal management defined by her expertise in budgeting, economic development, strategic planning, and fostering strong community partnerships.  They added during her tenure in Hannibal, Peck successfully secured millions in grants, improved financial reserves, and led key infrastructure projects, demonstrating her ability to balance fiscal responsibility with community growth.

The city council, on Monday night, will also be asked to approve a $239,000 bid from USDI for the city’s 2026 gas line replacement project.  The project includes replacing 73 service lines and meters.  Of the four companies asked to bid, USDI was the only one to submit a proposal.
