Deacon Snow hit a ball off the left field wall and Centralia, who trailed the entire game, came all the way back to beat Mt Vernon 6-4 and advances to the finals of the Centralia 3a Regional.  This came after Snow made an amazing play at second base on a ball headed for the outfield.

Mt Vernon opened the scoring in the first on a 2-run homer from Cale Maurer, a lead the Rams would extend to 3-0 in the 3rd.  Centralia would tie the game in the bottom of the inning thanks to a double by Drake Fahringer and a Rams error.

The Rams regained the lead in the fifth as Alex Kiefer homered to right to give them a 4-3 advantage.  Snow’s 2-run double would erase that deficit in the 6th.

Maxwell Nowak took the loss in relief for the Rams.  Archie Goewey was the starter allowing 8 hi8ts and 4 runs over  5.1.

The Orphans will take on Marion in the regional finals after their 12-2 win over Carbondale in the first game of the day.

At Civic Memorial, Triad knocked off Jerseyville 9-3 and Highland nipped Civic Memorial 2-1.
