The Salem Wildcats season officially starts over today as they will host Mattoon in the opening round of the Class 3a Salem Regional. The Wildcats will be the visitors on the scoreboard as they are the 5th seed, the Wave are right ahead of them at #4. The winner will advance to Saturday’s championship at Salem High to take on Effingham after the Hearts opened up with a 9-1 win over Charleston.
