A 29-year-old Salem man escaped with only minor injuries when his car ran off South College Street at the Kell Road intersection Monday morning.
Marion County Sheriff’s Deputies say Colton Wesling of South Washington was northbound on South College when he lost control for unknown reasons and ran off the west side of the road into the ditch. The car continued in the ditch line until it reached the creek at the intersection with Kell Street. The car then flipped over on the driver’s side against the bridge.
Wesling was able to get out himself before emergency help arrived. He received minor cuts and bruises, but declined hospital treatment.
The Salem Fire Protection District and United Medical Response assisted on the scene.
The crash occurred at 9:45 Monday morning.
