The City of Centralia has announced that the new playground equipment in Fairview Park is now open for play.
The city had asked everyone to stay off the playground during the final installation of large equipment, which is now in place. There is additional construction and landscaping that still needs to be completed in the coming weeks before the project is finished. At that time, a grand opening will be held for the facility.
Centralia received a $600,000 state OSLAD grant to pay for most of the project.
