A 41-year-old Centralia man has been sentenced to nine years in prison for a burglary at the Barking Lot in downtown Centralia last October.
Charles Anderson of North Poplar had a second burglary charge for entering the building for a second time the next day dropped as part of the plea. He allegedly took liquor when entering the business the first day and the cash register when coming back on the second day.
Anderson was also ordered to complete one year of mandatory release after getting out of prison, make $500 restitution, pay a $300 fine, and $200 public defender fee.
As part of the same plea agreement, Anderson pleaded guilty to unlawful possession of ammunition by a felon from an incident last August and possession of less than 5 grams of methamphetamine in December of 2023. He received five years on each of the charges. All three of the sentences are to run concurrently.
Several other charges pending against Anderson were dropped. They included theft by deception, aggravated battery to a police officer, failure to register as a sex offender as well as misdemeanor counts of criminal damage to property, theft, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
