A 23-year-old Fairfield man has been charged with aggravated battery in an until now unresolved stabbing that occurred on May 1, 2022.
The charge claims Trevor Edwards knowingly used a knife to stab a victim in the side causing bleeding. The victim had to be flown to the local hospital due to serious but non-life-threatening injuries. The incident occurred outside off the Kneff Cemetery Road in rural Clay City during a house party.
Clay County State’s Attorney Phillip Givens and Clay County Sheriff Andy Myers noted at that time it was difficult to narrow down the main suspect. However, through more advanced technological services, the investigation eventually led to Edwards.
A nationwide warrant was issued on April 23, 2025, and Edwards was found already in custody at a federal prison on an unrelated charge. No date has yet been set for Edwards to be transferred to the Clay County Sheriff’s Department for court action to begin on the case.
