The Odin Firemen’s Picnic begins its three-day run in Odin Park Thursday night.
The Midway by Egyptian Exposition will run from six to ten Thursday, Friday, and Saturday night. Armbands are $25 and individual ride tickets at four dollars. There will be family fun, music, raffles, food, cakewalk, and games all three nights.
Odin Fire Chief Greg Smith says a full day of activity is planned on Saturday.
“The cruise-in car show, which is free, will be from 10:30 to 4:00. The sound off will start at 11 o’clock and run until they get done. That’s $15 an entry. We’ll have the flag dedication at 7:00 by the Centralia VFW as always. We’ll start doing the raffle at 9:00 which this year is a cash raffle. $500 is the first place prize, $250 is second place and $100 is third place. We also have a pot shot board, that’s four Cardinals tickets in the hall of fame suite. At ten o’clock we’re looking at shooting off fireworks.”
Smith says all the proceeds go to the Odin Firefighters Association for improvements to the department.
There is a firefighter reunion planned for the picnic on Friday at 6:30 p.m. Anyone who has served with the Odin Fire District is asked to attend.
