Centralia Police arrested four female residents of One Hope United after they allegedly forced their way into a building housing male residents on Wednesday afternoon.

Police Lieutenant Steve Whritenour reports that the four reportedly attacked a staff member, striking him repeatedly and forcibly removing a key card, allowing entry to the building.   When the employee tried to get the card back, the four allegedly passed the card around.  Once other staff arrived, they were able to remove the four juvenile girls.

Police found them walking in nearby Foundation Park upon their arrival and were able to detain them.

During their first appearance in court on Thursday, two were ordered held at a Galesburg juvenile facility until their next court appearance, while the other two were released back to One Hope United.  State’s Attorney Tim Hudspeth says all four should have been held, but beds were not available, so the two who are believed to have had the biggest role in the incident were selected to remain in custody.
