Wildcats Host Mattoon Today For Senior Day
The Salem Wildcats baseball team is in action today at home against Mattoon as they honor their 9 seniors prior to the 4:30 first pitch. This also will be a preview of the Salem 3a Regional Semifinal next week when the two teams face off again.
Salem will host Mt Vernon tomorrow in an added game to the schedule followed by a road trip to Olney on Thursday and then they will take on Highland to close down the regular season on Friday.
Orphans Beat Collinsville, Host Freeburg Today
Centralia took the lead on Collinsville on a Michael Organ 2-run single and the Orphans knocked off the Collinsville 5-4. Gabe Houser had a 2-run single to put Centralia on the board in the first inning. Archie Goewey was the winning pitcher allowing 6 hits and 3 earned runs over 7 innings. Houser drove in 3 runs on the day. Xavier Koch added a single and run, Deacon Snow scored twice. The Orphans will host Freeburg today.
