At the May 14th Emergency Telephone System Board (ETSB) meeting, Marion County 911 proudly recognized five dedicated tele communicators for reaching milestone Anniversaries in maintaining their Emergency Medical Dispatch (EMD) certifications, as issued by the Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH).

The following tele communicators were honored with certificates acknowledging their years of service and continued commitment to public safety:

Justin Draper, Salem Police Department – 25 Years

Mike Anderson, Salem Police Department – 10 Years

Emily Meador-Day, Salem Police Department – 5 Years

Scott Towler, Centralia Police Department – 10 Years

Derek Moss, Centralia Police Department – 10 Years

“These tele communicators are a vital part of our 911 system, and I truly appreciate their years of service and dedication to Marion County and its citizens,” said Stacey Arenas, Marion County 911 Coordinator. “Their commitment to maintaining their EMD certification ensures that callers in medical emergencies receive the highest level of care and professionalism from the very first Moment they dial 911. We are fortunate to have such a skilled and compassionate team behind the headset.”

EMD-certified tele communicators are trained to provide critical medical instructions over the Phone before emergency responders arrive, often making a life-saving difference. Marion County 911 is proud to recognize these individuals for their continued excellence and service to the community.
