The girls state track and field meets will be held this weekend starting Thursday at Eastern Illinois University.
Salem freshman Carly Veach will be in the 100m hurdles. Junior Hannah Smith will throw the discus and junior Finley Puricelli will compete in the high jump along with Mt Vernon’s Dezaire Jones.
Jones will also compete in the triple jump along with teammate Autumn Rudd. Centralia’s Adariyah Dabney will compete in the long jump. In the100m will be Kamaree Pollard of Mt Vernon and Centralia’s Sha’Mary Maines-May. Pollard will also be in the 200 and 400m. Mt Vernon’s 4×100 relay team will compete along with Centralia.
Competing in the 1a 3200 will be Broke Koelm of North Clay along with Christ Our Rock’s Rylee Brammeier.
