Saturday – three team round robin against T-town Twisters and Mt. Zion Lady Braves.
In the first game, Salem falls to T-town Twisters 1-6. Salem got on the board in the first inning after a passed ball scored a run. Shaylee Vest started in the circle for Salem. The pitcher gave up 5 hits and 6 runs (4 earned) over 4 2/3 innings, striking out 6 and walking two. Paisley Deters stepped in the circle for T-town and surrendered zero hits and one run (zero earned) over 5 innings, striking out 14 and walking 2.
In the second game, Julianna Rushing led Salem past Mt. Zion Lady Braves. Julianna was dominant in the circle, as the pitcher rang up 11 strikeouts in Salem’s 13-0 victory over Mt. Zion Lady Braves. The pitcher gave up zero hits, zero runs over 4 innings while walking two. Harper Strubhart threw one inning of scoreles ball in relief. The pitcher allowed zero hits, striking out three and walking one. Offensively, Julianna led with 2 hits in 2 at bats, Salem Cats had a strong eye at the plate, piling up 8 walks in the game. Harper McCarthy and Harper Strubhard led the team with two free passes.
Sunday DH vs Dieterich Crush 10
Hits apenty in Salem’s win over Dietrich Crush 12-9. Macey Horton led Salem Cats when she doubled in the first inning scoring 3 runs. Kaylee went 2 for 3 at the plate to lead Salem Cats in hits. Jersey Thorpe led Salem with 3 walks. Julianna Rushing stepped in the circle first for Salem. She allowed 2 hits and three runs (zero earned) over two innings, striking out 7 and walking 2. Shaylee appeared in relief for Salem. She allowed 6 hits, struck out 4 and walked 5.
In the second game, Salem won 14-11 over Dieterich Crush. Shaylee and Kaylee each collected two hits for Salem Cats. Harper McCarthy led Salem with 2 RBIs. Julianna started in the circle for Salem as she allowed 4 hits, 5 runs (4 earned) over 4 innings, striking out 9 and walking 3. Harper McCarthy appeared in relief for Salem.
