The Orphans were at the South 7 Conference Meet during the day at Mt Vernon High School finishing 5th with 42 points.
Senior, Leonard Bratton was 1st in Triple Jump (44’ 11.5”) earning 1st Team All-Conference honors. Jaitlen White was 2nd in High Jump (6’2”). That is a PR and a great mark for the sophomore that is capable of going above 6’4”. Freshmen, Jackson Mikesell earned a 2nd place in Discus (134’ 7”). Mikesell will look to hit a PR next Wednesday to see how close he can get to that state qualifying standard. Kasanove Poore threw a 2nd Place mark in Shot Put (46’ 4”). Poore will also look to make a state qualifying throw next Wednesday. All three of these 2nd Place finishers receive 2nd Team All-Conference Honors.
KaiVeric Bratton finished 3rd in the 100 M Dash (11.01) and 4th in the 200 M Dash (22.10). Those are both PRs for the junior and CHS All-Time Top 5 marks. Leonard Bratton also jumped to a 3rd Place mark in High Jump (6’ 0”).
Gavin Beals was 4th in Shot Put (45’ 8”) earning another great PR for the senior. Jace Brammeier was 4th in Triple Jump (39’ 7”).
The 2A Sectional will be at Mascoutah High School next week on Wednesday.
