South Central Illinois was reporting little damage and no reports of tornado touchdowns as another line of severe weather pushed over the region Friday afternoon.
The only damage reported in Marion County was a downed power line in the 500 block of Oak Street in Patoka.
Salem also got very little rain out of the system, just five one-hundredths of an inch. However, other parts of the county were hit with heavier thunderstorms.
Parts of Clinton, Washington, Bond, and southern Fayette County along with Northern Marion County were under a tornado warning due to rotation seen on radar in the same severe thunderstorm that produced the tornado in St. Louis.
At least two possible tornadoes were reported in far Southern Illinois. The touch downs south of Marion and west of Carrier Mills seriously damaged multiple homes. Williamson County Emergency Management Agency Director Brian Burgess confirmed at a Saturday news conference that at least seven were injured, with more than 30 to 40 large structures damaged. The area was placed under a curfew Friday night. No injuries were reported in the Carrier Mills area of Saline County. Large hail was reported in the Murphysboro area.
