It’s senior day for the Salem Wildcats as they send off their big class with a home game against Flora. Recognition will be around 4:15 with first pitch set for 4:30 from Wildcat Field.
The Wildcats traveled to Altamont last night and were leading 1-0 when lightning canceled the game in the middle of the 4th inning. Brody Collier drove in the only run of the game with a groundout in the 2nd inning. Rhett Detering struck out 4 in his 3 innings of work. Kade Milleville was really good for the Indians as he allowed just one hit in 4 innings and struck out 8 without a walk.
The Salem JV won their 4th game of the year finishing at 4-15 as they beat Altamont 8-4. Luke Boldt was dominant as he rang up 11 strikeouts allowing just 4 hits and 3 runs over 5 innings. Kaiden Cripps drove in 3 runs with 2 RBI from Huck Mulvaney. Logan Butts and Jaxon Ward added RBI.
St Anthony evened the best of 3 Effingham City Series against the Hearts at a game apiece as they won yesterday 5-2. Brock Fearday was the winning pitcher hitting 92 mph in the opening inning. He would finish with 9 strikeouts. Effingham got a solo homer from Colton Webb, and loaded the bases but Fearday struck out the batter on a 91 mph fastball. Game 3 tonight to see who the City Champion will be, game starts at 7pm.
Christ Our Rock got strong pitching as they would beat Metro East Lutheran 1-0. Evan Beal drew a bases loaded walk for the game’s only run. Jayden Bazile added a double for the Stallions and Noah Kenley scored the lone run. Brayden Albert got the start going 2 innings followed by 3 scoreless innings from Colton Cartright and 2 more from Bazile.
The Orphans will be at Okawville.
