The Salem Township Hospital Foundation “Employee of the Year” is Janet Bunting in patient registration. She has worked in that area of the hospital since August 1981 and saw the original conversion to computers and the growth in the size and services of the hospital.
But Bunting was quite blunt about receiving the award.
“I can’t believe it,” she said. “I don’t think that I should be awarded for just doing a job.”
Bunting’s feelings weren’t changed when she heard what fellow hospital employees had said in their nominations.
Foundation President Myron Lloyd read from the submittals at the annual reception to announce the winner.
“Very reliable and respectful to coworkers. Very caring and helpful with patients. Always willing to lend a helping hand to patients and coworkers. Consistently demonstrates a willingness to step in and help whenever needed.”
It was also noted her patients love her and she makes them comfortable and at ease.
The award is a joint recognition project of Dr. and Mrs. Lakshmanan and Salem Township Hospital Foundation. Bunting will receive $1,000 cash, a personal plaque and will have a large plaque with her picture in the lobby for the next year.
The ‘Employee of the Year’ award is one of the annual events held as part of National Hospital Week.
