The Salem Lady Wildcats improved to 18-2 overall and remained undefeated in the in the Conference with a 17-0, five inning win at home over Roxana. Bre Thurman allowed 1 hit and struck out 14. Salem had 13 hits on the day. Marah Johnson and Lilly Blagoue both hit home runs. Blagoue and Emma Lipe had 2 hits each and Lilly drove in 4 runs and Thurman added 3 RBI. Johnson, Lipe and Katee Sellers drove in 2. Congratulations to Emily Jones and Morgan Honerkamp on both getting their first career varsity hits. The Salem Lady Wildcats return to action today at Olney.
Mt Vernon beat Fairfield 10-3 scoring 8 runs in the opening inning to set the tone early. Arwyn Wilkey, Danicah Tobin and Makenzie Long had 3 hits each. Paige Watson added 2 hits and drove in a run. Taylor DeSmith was the winning pitcher allowing 7 hits and 2 earned runs with 9 strikeouts.
