The Little Egypt CEO Program is holding its trade show on Wednesday, May 14th, from 5:30-7:30 at the Harvest Room in Salem. Little Egypt CEO’s trade show celebrates the innovation and entrepreneurship of its talented participants. Each member of the CEO program will feature their individual business and the products or services they offer. CEO member, Presslie Harris, speaks highly of the trade show.
“The trade show is an opportunity to showcase the businesses that we have built through CEO. So every student has a business. It’s an opportunity to showcase those businesses, and gain more attention for those businesses that plan to continue after CEO.”
Silas Moats, a member of the CEO program, offers coaching services for young bowlers. As a member of the SCHS bowling team for four years, and for having gone to state three times. He believes in his skill and capability to teach the younger generations to use their maximum potential.
“I am starting up my own individual coaching service for people who want to further expand their physical capabilities in the sport of bowling.”
Rhett Deterring, another member of the CEO program, is the founder of Strikeout Shammy’s. Strikeout Shammy’s offers bowling towels to bowlers interested in high-class equipment. Deterring has been a four-year member of the SCHS bowling team, and along with being nominated the Salem Community High School’s Mr. Wildcat. He also competed and won state for bowling on behalf of Salem Community High School.
“So my business does custom towels. So I buy all the materials and then I hot foil press them, it’s what people use on Bibles, and I press it onto the leather. The stitch station sews them together for me.”
All proceeds received from the distribution of the student’s individual business products and services will go back to the student’s business. This will allow the students to build capital and grow their business even after they get done with high school.
The Salem Chamber of Commerce will hold a ribbon cutting for the CEO program at five prior to the trade show.
