Over the weekend, the Teutopolis Wooden Shoes won the Edwardsville Tigers Baseball Classic. They beat Chatham Glenwood 2-1 Saturday morning after knocking off Edwardsville and losing Friday to Highland 6-3. TTown is 22-4 on the season.
The Orphans routed Carlyle 12-1. Will Stanton, Rhett Lambert and Archie Goewey combined for 5 of the team’s 9 hits and scored 5 runs and drove in 2. Xavier Koch added a 2-run home run in the 3rd. Lambert, Goewey and Gabe Houser had 2 hits each, with Houser driving in 2 runs. Koch also was the winning pitcher going 5 innings allowing 2 hits and 1 run with five strikeouts. The Orphans host Wesclin today.
St Anthony scored 8 runs in the 7th helping them to a 13-2 road win at Newton. Aden Lauritzen, Brock Fearday, Will Fearday and Henry Brent all homered for the Bulldogs.
