Mt Vernon had their comeback cut just short as they fell 4-3 to Triad.  The Lady Rams trailed 4-0 in the top of the fourth when they would plate 3 runs to cut the lead to just one.  Mia Porter had 2 RBI for the Lady Rams near the bottom of the order.  Taylor DeSmith, Porter, Arwyn Wilkey and Allie Sweeten each had a hit.  In the loss, Danicah Tobin allowed 4 hits and struck out 6.

The National Trail Conference softball championship was a dandy with Windsor/Stew Stras and St Anthony.  The Lady Bulldogs led 4-3 in the bottom of the 7th when the Hatchets loaded the bases.  Zaida Wascher then hit a rope up the middle to score 2 and walk it off 5-4.  Nancy Ruholl pitched well in the loss for St Anthony as the great Sam Hayes earned another win for WSS.

Waltonville beat Woodlawn to win the MTC title 15-5.  It was also coaching win #200 for Waltonville coach John Kiselewski.
