CORLHS Track & Field competes at Webber HS Last Call Invitational

After a rain out yesterday The Christ Our Rock Lutheran High School Boys and Girls were back at it today at The Webber HS Last call Inv. The Stallions had some impressive PRs, Meet Champions and Medalists this afternoon!

Jr. Landyn Mitchell knows the post season is approaching fast, with today being one of two regular season meets left for the Stallions prior to the IHSA Sectional, and Mitchell made the most of today’s opportunity! He would win the 110M Hurdles with a PR of (:14.53). Mitchell would also take home meet Champion in the 300M Hurdles with his most impressive race in the event this season, another PR (:40.73). He would also claim first place in the Triple Jump (41’9″). Landyn has had an impressive week, but that comes as no surprise if you’ve followed this team all year, he just keeps turning out 1st place efforts!

In one of the most exciting races of the day the 1600 meter run. Soph. Carson Pigg brought home 2nd place for the Stallions as he was just edged by .6 tenth of a second at the line, after an outstanding effort! His teammate Sr. Zerek Koch has a lot to be excited about as well as Koch would place 3rd with a PR (5:00.7) running his first 5 minute mile of his career! Sr. Isaiah Lyons continues to have an incredible Senior season as Lyons would take home the 3rd place medal in the 200 meter Dash for The Stallions today (:24.18). Lyons would also place in the 100 meter dash finishing 6th (:12.09).

Soph. Jaxon Cushman came up big in the Discus today for the Stallions, narrowly missing a medal placing 4th with a throw of (95’10”). His teammate Remington Burleyson also would place in the event in 6th (87’0″).

Soph. Cameron Jones would record a PR in the 3200 meter run (13:03.2) placing 5th and Soph. teammate Wyatt Gregory would also place 5th in the 800 meter run (2:14.8), while Soph. Liagel Lyons would PR in the 800M as well in (2:39.7) “The Spanish Secret Weapon” Sergio Fernandez would PR in the 400 meter dash (:59.58) placing 6th and grabbing a point for The Stallions.

On the Lady Stallions side Sr. Rylee Brammeier who has been battling sickness would have a bounce back day placing 2nd in the 3200 meter run (14:14.5) and 2nd in the 1600 meter run (6:38.7). Sr. Madi Nolte would narrowly miss medaling in the Discus, placing 4th with a season’s best throw of (78’5″). Nolte would also place 5th in the Shot Put with (25’11”).

The Stallions and Lady Stallions will compete in their last regular season meet on Monday at The Ellis Invitational, before the Lady Stallions compete at the IHSA Sectional on Thursday May 15th at Webber HS. The Boys Chester IHSA Section will take place on May 22nd! Another great day today for both the Stallions and Lady Stallions!
