After having yesterday’s showdown with Columbia at Salem canceled due to rain, they will make it up this afternoon at 4:30 at Salem Field.


CORLHS Wins Again, 4-2 Comeback Over BSE

Garrett Denton, Drew Lueking and Colton Cartright combined for four of Christ Our Rock’s eight hits as they beat Brownstown/St Elmo 4-2. The game was tied at 2 in the top of the sixth when Cartright drove in a run and Denton extended it to 4-2 with an RBI single. Brayden Albert drove in a pair of runs and worked 5 innings on the mound allowing 4 hits and no earned runs with 9 strikeouts. Lueking worked a scoreless final 2 innings.


Jones HR Lifts SC Over Newton

Seth Jones 3-run homer in the top of the fifth helped South Central to a 3-1 road win at Newton. Chase Guerrettaz was the winning pitcher giving up 8 hits and one run over his seven innings of work.



St Anthony Falls To McGivney In 7th Inning Rally

It was a post season type atmosphere in Effingham as St Anthony hosted Father McGivney in a battle of 2 of the best small school baseball teams in the state. St Anthony led 4-3 heading into the 7th inning when the Griffins hit a 2-run homer down the line the umpire determined it was fair and they went on to win 6-4. Brock Fearday homered for St Anthony and threw well topping 91 mph on the night. The Bulldogs are right back at it this afternoon when they host Belleville East.
