Wildcats Win 3rd Straight, Showdown With Columbia Today At Salem
Salem improved to 11-11 overall and won their 3rd straight game for the first time this season beating South Central on the road 7-2. Salem jumped out to a 4-0 lead after the top of the first inning. SC would cut the deficit in half on a Calloway Smith 2-run homer to left in the 3rd. Salem answered back with 3 more runs in the 4th. Keaton Gullion and Noah Nix led Salem with 2 RBI each. Aden Bass, Ryan Detering and Braden Rector also added RBI. Jalen Inlow was the winning pitcher going 6.2 allowing 5 hits and 2 runs. Brody Collier got the final 2 outs. Trevan Sidwell had 2 hits for SC and worked 5 innings on the mound allowing 5 earned runs.
The Salem Wildcats are back in action today at home when they host Columbia. Salem knocked off the Eagles on Tuesday in Columbia. Game time at 4:30.
Orphans Avenge Tuesday’s Loss To Mt Vernon With Home Win Over Rams
Centralia avenged their loss to Mt Vernon with a 9-7 win at home. Mt Vernon took a 4-1 lead in the top of the 3rd, but Centralia flipped the game on its head in the bottom of the fifth scoring 7 runs on 3 hits to take an 8-4 lead with the biggest blow in the inning a 2-run single by Michael Organ. Dax Snow earned the win allowing one hit and one run over 2 innings of relief. Maxwell Nowak took the loss for Mt Vernon. Gabe Houser went 2-3 for the Orphans and drove in 3 to lead Centralia. Deacon Snow and Drake Fahringer drove in runs along with Rhett Lambert. For the Rams, Ryker Perigo went 2-3 with 3 RBI. Tyler Curry homered and drove in 2.
