The Christ Our Rock Lutheran High School Boys Track and Field Team placed 3rd today at The Gateway Metro Athletic Conference Track and Field Meet held at Belleville Althoff Catholic High School. It took every point and every place that the Stallions could grab to secure the Bronze at The Meet. The 77 points scored by The Stallion Boys today was the largest amount scored in coach Tim Koch’s four year tenure at The Conference Meet. In 2023 the Stallions placed 3rd scoring 69 pts. In 2022 and 2024 the boys placed 4th.
Today our kids earned it, with less athletes than we’ve had competing in previous years. The Stallions would have two conference champions today as Sr. Isaiah Lyons would use an impressive kick in the last 20 meters of the 400 meter dash (:53.53) to win the race in the pouring rain! In doing so, Lyons would PR and again break his own school record! Jr. Landyn Mitchell continued his season brilliance in the 100M Hurdles, winning his 2nd conference championship in as many years in (:15.36). Mitchell would also claim The Conference Title in the Triple Jump with a jump of (41’5.25″). He was conference runner-up in the Long Jump (20’03.5″). Soph. Carson Pigg grabbed the Silver Medal with a strong race in the 3200 meter run for the Stallions (10:40.7). After a 45 minute rain/lightening delay Isaiah Lyons would also grab a 3rd place medal in the 200 meter dash (:24.33). The Stallions 4X800 meter relay team of Soph. Wyatt Gregory, Anderson Engele, Cameron Jones and Aiden Hildreth were also 3rd Place Medalists. And Isaiah Lyons would join teammates Sr. Tommy Taylor, Sergio Fernandez & Alton Davis for a 3rd place medal in the 4X100. Other Stallions scoring big points were:
*4th place: 4X200 Meter Relay team of Fernandez, Taylor, Liagel Lyons & Jayden Cushman (1:48.7)

The Lady Stallions also competed at the Conference Meet as well. Their 2 competitors included Sr. Madi Nolte who scored in both her throwing events placing 4th in the Discus (78’02”) and 5th in the Shot Put with a PR of (26’8.25″) Sr. Rylee Brammeier would place 7th in the 1600 meter run (6:34.0) and 8th in the 800 meter (2:51.0). The Stallions and Lady Stallions compete again tomorrow at the Webber Last Call Invitational.
Coach Tim Koch said, “It was a great day for our Program.I was excited to see our athletes fight so hard for The Bronze team award. We have a smaller enrollment and less athletes than any of the other schools in our Conference, yet our kids still proved they belong!”
He added, “How can I not be pleased with the most points scored by our kids in the last four years at a conference meet!” “This is a day I will look back on and remember for a long time!” “Our Seniors were honored at the meet today and I’m just so blessed for the last four years with this group of Seniors! Each one of them is very special to me and we’ve had some incredible memories together these past four years!” “I’m moving on and so are they but we will forever be connected through this great sport!” “I thank God for them and for the great times we’ve shared!”
