Two Republican legislators hope the visit by Homeland Secretary Kristi Noem will wake up the Governor to change his sanctuary policies.
State Representative Blaine Wilhour says not only is Governor JB Pritzker protecting illegal criminals, he is also not prioritizing American citizens and citizens of Illinois.
“J.B. Pritzker has opened the floodgates. He has encouraged these people to come in here. Not only is it a threat to safety of our citizens, we simply can’t afford it. We’re spending billions of dollars while people in our own state are suffering. We’re suffering under the highest taxes, highest regulations in the country. It’s not good for people, and J.B. Pritzker needs to get serious about Illinois and not his ridiculous presidential ambitions.”
State Senator Jason Plummer says, “Let it be clear that shielding violent offenders from federal law enforcement doesn’t make us more compassionate, it puts our communities at risk and it is a public safety disaster.” Plummer says Pritzker seems more interested in scoring points with national progressives than protecting the people he was elected to serve.
